The dual study programme in Information Technology for Public Administration, offered in partnership with the German Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences in Münster, is your chance!

What youll learn

This dual study programme offers you the ideal dual qualification in Computer Science and Public Administration Management, which you can put into practice straight away in Bafins IT team. The three-year degree programme provides you with comprehensive expertise in the following three key areas:

Information technology: You will learn the fundamentals of computer science, including programming, databases, operating systems, software development and IT security.

Public administration management: You will study project management, accounting, economics and social sciences.

General public administration: You will learn about public and constitutional law, as well as administrative and civil law (including e-government).

The practical modules at Bafin focus primarily on the IT units, where you will learn how to drive forward the digitalisation of financial supervision from a technical perspective.

Your profile

Youll be the ideal candidate for this career opportunity if you:

Hold a university entrance qualification (or equivalent).

Have a keen interest in IT issues and the workings of the federal public administration.

Demonstrate a high level of motivation, a sense of responsibility and a willingness to learn.

Meet the eligibility criteria for appointment as a civil servant in accordance with section 7 of the German Civil Service Act (BBG).

Your benefits – an IT career with civil servant status

Upon successfully completing your Bachelor of Science degree, you will qualify for a career in the higher intermediate civil service. This provides you with:

Financial security: When you begin your studies, you will be appointed as a trainee civil servant on a probationary basis and receive an attractive trainee salary (currently around €1,744 gross per month for single people; additional allowances depend on marital status and number of children). Furthermore, you will not pay any social security contributions and will have the option of taking out private health insurance.
