Responsibilities

This role operates within a dual reporting structure, reporting to the Implementation Department at E.ON Energy Projects GmbH and to the CTO-led Solutions Portfolio department within the central function of E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS).

Delivery of large-scale Batteries and sub-station CAPEX projects across Europe, starting in the development phase through to handover to operations, with responsibility for safety, scope, cost, timeline, performance, and quality

Overall leadership of an integrated project team with subject-matter experts to drive the development and execution of the projects, covering project management, contract and risk management, project controls, permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning, procurement, and claim management, as well as internal and external stakeholder management

Support the International Batteries Pipeline Manager in applying a structured portfolio management approach, by proactively coordinating with other project managers across regions to identify risks, gaps, and interdependencies

Provide technical and delivery assurance across multiple BESS projects, ensuring alignment on scope, quality, schedule, and budget; review and challenge project plans and critical paths, identify risks early, and define corrective actions

Validate engineering designs, studies, and commissioning strategies to ensure technically robust and cost-efficient solutions, and engage hands-on in resolving critical technical and delivery issues

Support the development of standardisation, best practices, and lessons learned across the portfolio, building on existing capabilities within the Group

Requirements

Degree in electrical engineering or related field, with senior-level BESS and/or power infrastructure project delivery experience, ideally including integrated BESS and substation projects

Proven experience in managing multiple projects in parallel, with a structured approach to project management and project controls

Proven cross-country stakeholder coordination, communication, and influence across project teams, suppliers, EPC partners, and other stakeholders

Strong BESS technical expertise

Solid understanding of BESS cost drivers and EPC delivery models, with commercial, hands-on, and continuous improvement mindset

Fluent in German and English (C1); Willingness to travel (20-40%)
