RWE Offshore Wind GmbH

To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent

As the Lead Responsible Electrical Person (Lead REP / Lead VEFK), you hold the overall electrical responsibility for RWEs offshore operations across Continental Europe. You consolidate decentralized electrical responsibilities and establish consistent standards across all sites. Currently, you are responsible for nine offshore wind farms, eight offshore substations, and seven different wind turbine platforms, leading the electrical organization in close collaboration with the local Site Responsible Electrical Persons (Site REPs / S-VEFKs).

In addition, you act as the Lead Expert for the operation and maintenance of high- and medium-voltage systems across RWEs European offshore wind portfolio. You define the maintenance strategy for these critical electrical assets and establish a harmonized fleet-wide approach while balancing commercial considerations and country-specific regulatory requirements.

About the role

As the Lead Responsible Electrical Person (Lead REP / Lead VEFK) in accordance with DIN VDE 1000-10, you assume the central technical and supervisory responsibility for offshore operations in Continental Europe in line with DIN VDE 0105-100 (EN 50110-1) and establish standardized reporting to executive management.

You further develop a legally compliant and harmonized electrical organization, ensuring clear governance between the Lead REP and Site REPs while considering local regulatory requirements and the requirements of Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

Together with your team, you are responsible for the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of all electrical assets across the fleet, with a particular focus on high- and medium-voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, and cable systems.

You define, harmonize, and implement electrical engineering standards, operational procedures, as well as standardized training and competency development concepts across the organization.

In your role as the Site REP for central operational functions, you provide technical leadership, mentoring, and professional development for Site REPs and Electrical Operations Engineers.

You independently plan and manage technical audits at offshore wind farms and critical service providers, working closely with HSE, Engineering, Procurement, Transmission System Operators, and external partners.

You analyze market developments, electrical incidents, accidents, and near misses, translating findings into innovative maintenance strategies and sustainable continuous improvement initiatives.

In addition, you represent RWE in internal and external committees, contribute your expertise to the continuous improvement of operational processes and maintenance strategies, and actively help shape future industry standards.

Job requirements and experience

Successfully completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, such as a certified Master Electrician or Electrical Technician, combined with relevant professional experience.

Several years of experience as a Responsible Electrical Person (REP / VEFK) or in a comparable senior electrical leadership position.

Extensive expertise in the operation and maintenance of high- and medium-voltage systems, supported by comprehensive knowledge of electrical infrastructure and power systems.

Ideally, experience in offshore wind farm operations and practical knowledge of substations, preferably in an offshore environment.
