Lead Analytics Engineer (f/m/d)_metrify

We are Metrify Smart Metering, Germanys largest competitive smart metering operator, and a new strategic spin-off initiative by Enpal.

While Metrify emerged from Enpal, we now operate independently in the market, serving a broad range of commercial customers, energy suppliers, and municipal utilities.

What youll do

Balancing hands-on engineering with a big-picture vision to drive a scalable, future-proof data ecosystem.

Acting as the central point of contact and technical lead across multiple sub-teams and projects, guiding them toward aligned, optimal solutions.

Designing and scaling dbt data models to improve efficiency and support growing business requirements.

Building and enhancing ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows aligned with business goals using modern data stack tools (e.g. SQL, Python, cloud data platforms).

Translating business requirements into robust data models and actionable insights in close collaboration with stakeholders.

Driving prioritization and roadmap planning, leading sprint execution and delivery coordination to ensure alignment with business priorities.

Mentoring and guiding a team, fostering professional development, collaboration, and a growth-oriented environment while aligning team goals with business objectives.

Monitoring, optimizing, and evolving data pipelines and analytical systems to ensure reliability and scalability.

What youll bring

7+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Data Engineering roles.

Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling, including dimensional modeling, normalization, denormalization, and integrations.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Hands-on experience building and maintaining dbt models in production environments with multi-terabyte-sized data assets.

Proven ability to design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.

Experience working with BI tools such as Power BI for reporting and data visualization.

Ability to work with complex and ambiguous datasets, transforming them into structured and usable data models.

Experience leading projects, managing priorities, and guiding technical delivery within cross-functional teams.

Passion for mentoring, enabling teams, and fostering data-driven cultures.

Python skills are considered a plus, but are not a strict requirement for this position.
