WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT (D/F/M) AT STUDIO OLAFUR ELIASSON

Ideal start date: 15.06.2026

Limited 2-year contract: Full-time (40h/ week)

Job Description:

As a Communications Assistant at Studio Olafur Eliasson (SOE), you will work closely with the Head of Communications and team to provide important context on Olafur Eliassons broad practice, which spans research and experimental activities, exhibitions, artworks, and individual projects.

An integral part of the communications team, your role will involve connecting with all departments at Studio Olafur Eliasson to manage communication schedules, edit text, respond to press requests, support the development of social media content, and provide further insight into research topics. The team keeps in close contact with Olafurs galleries and supports the partnering entity of Studio Olafur Eliasson, Studio Other Spaces.

With an interest in understanding the different sides of the artworld, you will draft, edit and support the creation of communication materials – such as web content, wall texts, press releases, social copy and brochures – and support on decisions regarding marketing. You will be responsible for responding to incoming requests, liaising with press and compiling an overview of press exposure. You will work alongside the team to organise and archive communication materials relating to Olafurs exhibitions and projects.

Working directly the Head of Communications, your tasks will include organising set up for interviews and press events, supporting press briefings, working on the development of messaging, and compiling archival materials for public talks and presentations.

Your Skills:

You have three years of documented professional experience in a communications, personal assistant, or archival role, preferably in a contemporary art context.

You have excellent organisational and communication skills.

You have excellent text and editorial skills and can write flawless copy in English.

You are confident in speaking in meetings and presenting information to wide group of people.

You grasp complex briefs quickly and are confident working independently.

You work exceptionally well in a team, under pressure, and can juggle multiple deadlines.

You are an enthusiastic team player.

You have a strong interest in art and in the environment.

Desirable:

You have experience in writing to journalists, arranging interviews (virtually and in person) and managing requests.

You have a good eye for detail and are confident in selecting and collating visual content (e.g. for creating social media posts or selecting press images).

Experience using graphic design programs including the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) and other image and video-editing software.

Language Requirements:

Fluent English is required.

Proficiency in German (both written and spoken) is desirable.

Proficiency in other languages a plus.
